The IVR2400 is a high performance, field-deployable multi-port network appliance with industry leading SmartCatch® Video Analytics 3.0 built-in. Based on a high performance embedded video processor, the IVR simultaneously encodes, in either H.264 or MPEG-4, four video channels. Placed at the network edge, the IVR analyzes and encodes high quality video from both analog and digital IP cameras, transforming any surveillance system into an efficient and intelligent video analytic network.
The IVR2400 can apply analytics to thermal, near IR, and high resolution video, and then encode to H.264 for unprecedented efficiency. The IVR’s on-board video analytics automatically load balances the bandwidth consumption of the four video channels based on the video content and camera priority. When security breaches occur, the IVR instantly sends associated video in high quality with detail rich metadata to a SmartCatch Server Management Console for real time alarm, viewing and archiving.
Vidient’s IVR enables surveillance and IT designers to convert legacy analog surveillance systems into extensible and scalable intelligent video networks. IVR features include a compact indoor and outdoor form factor and Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) for all digital devices. The system supports 802.11 and 802.15 wireless devices.
The SmartCatch IVR2400 is based on an embedded massively parallel processor designed specifically for video and image processing applications. The compact, all weather design enables true network edge deployments, which provide advantages for improved analytics accuracy. The IVR2400 can perform analytics on the highest quality video data - without clogging the network. This contributes to lower network infrastructure costs and less data center space and energy consumption.
The Vidient IVR encodes video in the latest official video compression standard, H.264. This standard delivers improvements in both video quality and compression over the previous standard, MPEG-4. H.264 typically delivers the same or better video quality as MPEG-4 with roughly half the bandwidth and storage requirements. With the IVR and H.264, the bandwidth and disk capacity requirements are essentially halved, eliminating the need for expensive network or storage upgrades. It supports any resolution from quarter CIF to 16 CIF and can encode 4 channels of 4CIF into MPEG-4 at 30 fps and into H.264 at 10 fps.
The versatile Vidient IVR fits into almost any CCTV system and network infrastructure. The appliance supports both analog and digital cameras, supporting both today’s technology and providing a growth path to future IP devices. Analog and digital cameras can even operate simultaneously on the same IVR. Organizations have the ultimate flexibility of choice in locating the IVR at the network edge or in the data center, or anywhere between. The IVR can also be deployed in combination with Vidient’s PC-based solution, so organizations can choose between a centralized or distributed computing model. And, with a built in firewall, VPN, PoE, and support for wireless networks, the IVR2400 provides an effective solution for remote installations.
